The Sweetest Mistake You Will See Today
Happy Birthday Momey Sign From Dr. Taylor's Daughter

Yesterday we celebrated my wife’s birthday. (For confidentiality purposes and to protect the innocent, I am not going to tell you how old she turned. Top secret stuff.)

The celebration was nothing over the top, just a family lunch, some balloons, flowers, GF treats and a lot of laughter.

One of the highlights for my wife was when she walked in the kitchen area and saw the lightbox that our youngest proudly set up for her. (see picture above)

Yes, she misspelled Mommy. And no, we didn’t correct it, because we are soaking up every misspelled word that she writes, knowing ‘it won’t be like this for long’.

It captured the heart of the day: thoughtful, real chill, and a little imperfect… which made it even better.

The kids put together a birthday tray with snacks, flowers, and cards. My daughter sitting next to it, looked like she was running a five-star restaurant for her mom.

And as I looked around the room, I thought about my wife.

She’s always the one behind the scenes, sacrificing for everyone else, pouring herself out so that others are cared for. I definitely married up when I married her and by far got the better half of the deal. Yesterday was a rare day when she slowed down long enough to be celebrated.

But here’s the reality of it all: that’s not just my wife’s story. It’s the story of so many of you. You give and give… until your tank is empty.

And here’s the health lesson tucked inside that birthday moment: you can’t keep pouring out if you don’t stop to refill.

  • Your body needs rest.
  • Your mind needs recovery.
  • Your health needs attention.

Otherwise, just like the sign, things start to come out a little “off.”

So maybe the reminder is this: don’t wait until your birthday to recharge the battery. Refill regularly. The people you love don’t just need your sacrifice, they need your strength.

Because one of the greatest gifts you can give your family is a healthier, stronger you.

Remember your health affects everything you do and everyone you know!
