Derek M. Taylor was born in Wahiawa, Hawaii and moved to California shortly after. He played football at Bishop Montgomery High School and during his junior year he suffered a low back injury that was debilitating. A chiropractor helped him become pain-free and this inspired him to pursue the field of chiropractic.
Dr. Taylor was trained and certified in the Nimmo Receptor Tonus Technique (Travel Myofascial Release work) prior to attending chiropractic school.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and graduated, Magna Cum Laude, with his Doctorate of Chiropractic in 1993 at Los Angeles College of Chiropractic (now called Southern California University of Health Sciences) where he was a member of the Dean’s list, Delta Sigma honorary Scholastic Society and president of the Gonstead technique Club. Additionally, Dr. Taylor’s classmates voted him ‘Most Likely to Succeed’.
Dr. Taylor has lectured nationally since 1993 on the subject of health and nutrition.
He is currently licensed for chiropractic in the state of California where he is director of the Taylor Chiropractic & Laser Center. Dr. Taylor also holds licenses for chiropractic in the states of Ohio and Hawaii.
Dr. Taylor resides in the South Bay where he loves spending time with his wife, Ali, and five children –– Hudson, Jonathan, Caden, Dallas, and McKenna.
